Asking & Thanking

Hey, you ever think when you pray, you gotta know the difference between asking and thanking?

You want a job? Ask him. Maybe maybe he’ll give you one

You want to date that girl you’ve had your eye on? Ask God. He’s into setting things like that up sometimes.

You’re a parent? You wish your teenager would drop the cell phone for a change? Ask God. That might be something he’ll do for you.

You want God to love you, to forgive you, keep you? Don’t ask. Just thank him

You see, that’s what God does. You don’t have to ask God… to be God.
