Pain & Redemption

Joy and grief are not mutually exclusive.

This is the human experience. My wife and I were invited to share the story of our journey toward parenting this Mother’s Day at our home church of ONE Fellowship in Charleston, SC. While this is a day filled with joy for us now, for 7 long years this day along with Father’s Day were the hardest of the year. It felt like a cruel reminder that our desire to grow our family was still going unmet. With broken hearts we would show up to church and feel joy for others while at the same time feeling pain and grief for ourselves.

Over the years we’ve learned so much in the ups and downs and everything in between. It’s been a messy journey, but we’ve become confident that none of it has been wasted. Our hope is that through our story, you’re able to connect in a way that not only offers comfort and hope, but draws you closer to Jesus. In whatever heartache or dark night of the soul you or someone you know might be facing, you are seen by God, known by God, and loved by God more than you know.
