Politics in the Church – Collecting Chips

Politics in the Church – Collecting Chips

/ Articles / Politics in the Church – Collecting Chips

The church is an institution. It's a lot more than that, but it is an institution. That means politics in the church is an unfortunate reality.

How can a pastor fulfill a genuine calling to love and serve God’s people—innocent as a dove—while being wise as a serpent about the necessity of playing politics?

One way is to collect chips.

Join Steve Brown for this Key Life Pastors Chat as he talks with pastors Kevin Labby and Zach Van Dyke about one of the most controversial things he teaches seminary students. The need to collect chips is shocking and offensive when misunderstood, but it’s the only way for a pastor to weather storms and facilitate needed change in the church.

Also, don’t miss the first pastors chat on politics in the church.
