Baptizing Squirrels

Church is the bride of Christ and he loves her.
A pastor once told me that he had the found a sure way to get rid of squirrels in the attic of the church.
We catch ’em, he said, then we baptize them and let them go. After that, they won’t come near a church, except at Christmas and Easter. And we can deal with that.
Believe it or not, church shouldn’t be casual, because church is the bride of Christ. And he loves her.
Frankly, I don’t understand that. Talk about an ugly bride, but then love is sometimes irrational, as in, for God so loved the world. He loves his bride even more than the world. Go figure.
