Being Old

I got an e-mail from an old friend this morning.

He said he was amazed that I had so many friends and enemies. Then he said, you’re old. Did you know Socrates? I wrote back and said that yes, I did know Socrates and liked him. But Plato, somewhat less, also told my friend that his e-mail was abuse of an old person.

There’s some negatives to being old, but one positive. Lots of friends. But the best is that Jesus is my friend, and I’ve known him forever. I can say with the Gaither’s.

The longer I serve him, the sweeter he grows.

And the more important he is.
