C.S. Lewis & Dorothy Sayers
AUGUST 20, 2024
Christians are forgiven, loved, and accepted. It’s the truth…and the anchor we hold in a storm.
There’s a story about how Dorothy Sayers, a friend of C.S. Lewis, gave a speech on theology.
A priest criticized her by saying that what she said might be interesting to theologians, but largely irrelevant to the average person. Sayers said to Lewis, If he believes that, I suspect that his congregation is ignorant, bored, and bewildered.
She’s probably right, Biblical truth says you’re forgiven, loved, and accepted, and is the anchor that holds the Christian steady in a storm. It’s not just interesting, it’s the truth that keeps life from being meaningless.
Hold on to that truth and you’ll be okay.
I’m Steve Brown. You think about that.
