Flowers

I love missionaries. In fact, I would be one, if I didn’t have a pride problem about raising support.

I once asked a missionary who was serving in a hard place in a third world country, what she was going to do after her furlough. She said, I’m going back, and I’m going to plant flowers in hell.

What an arresting phrase. Flowers in hell. When it gets dark enough, Jesus said to let the light he has given you shine. Or, if you prefer the phrase, plant some flowers in a really hot place.
