Forced Compliance

I read a saying recently.

At no time in human history have the people forcing others into compliance, been the good guys.

That’s true. And it certainly isn’t what Jesus does. He may be your teacher, your friend, maybe even your Savior, but he’s not your mother. He knows that in the end you’ll get better. And even most of the time do the right thing.

I sometimes get bloodied and depressed when I don’t do what is pleasing to him. But eventually I come around because love never forces, it always beckons. It also forgives and shows the mercy and I’ll follow somebody like that.
