Icy Baptism

Did you hear about the small church that believed that after you’re baptized you wouldn’t sin?

A man became a Christian in that church and insisted that he be baptized, even though it was the middle of the winter. So, they took him down to the river, chiseled the ice away, and put him under. When he came up, he praised God and said, I don’t even feel cold. The deacon standing behind him said, we’ve got to do it again. He’s lying.

Hey, don’t lie about your sin. It’s the most important part of your witness. The Christian faith is about forgiveness, not perfection.

And listen, it’s not about your goodness, but the goodness of Jesus.
