Lee Harvey Oswald

When I was a student at Boston University School of Theology, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy took place.

Lee Harvey Oswald, as you know, was named as the assassin. As you can imagine, everybody I knew was bitter and angry at Oswald. Someone however, put a message on the bulletin board and it read, Jesus Christ died for Lee Harvey Oswald, too.

I didn’t like that when I read it. There are some people for whom Jesus should not have died. Well, now that I think about it, I wouldn’t have died for me.

Kind of sobering, isn’t it?
