I have a friend who has a prison ministry.

He once asked at a prison gathering, how many of you guys had a mother or father who said to you, someday you’re going to end up in jail? To my friend’s surprise, every single one of the prisoners raised their hand.

Be careful what you say to your children, but more important, you and your children should listen to what our heavenly Father says to us.

You’re my child

he says

and I’ll never let you go. You’re going to end up in heaven.

I like that.

For me, it’s certainly better than jail.
