The Sound of Music

Do you remember in Sound of Music when Maria leaves the family because she’s confused over her love for the father?

The children try to make the best of her having gone and tried to sing the song Favorite Things. But they can’t pull it off. One of the little girls says, it’s hard to sing when Maria isn’t here, it makes me sad.

Some people make singing easier with their presence. That would be Jesus. He said, I’ll never leave you or forsake you. That’s why the songs of Christians are almost always sung with joy, even if sometimes off-key. His presence does that.
