I have been given an inheritance.

This is Key Life, we’re here to let you know that because of what Jesus has done, God will never be angry at you again. Jerry Parries has been teaching us all this week. Jerry serves as pastor at Christian Family Worship Center House of Grace and he’s the author of The Making of a Blended Family.

Jerry Parries: Thank you Matthew. Well, Jeremy, we are landing this plane. Oh wow. Been here all week and man, it has been absolutely amazing. Well, if you haven’t been with us all week and you just tuned in today and you was expecting to hear the old man Dr. Steve Brown, man that’s full of wisdom, love. And we call him around here, the man of God. He has allowed me to sit in for the entire week and I am absolutely excited and appreciative of him allowing me to be here. I am Pastor Jerry Q. Parries, I’m one of the voices of Key Life. And I humbled, I greatly appreciate this opportunity to share with you today. Listen, this is the week that I’ve been teaching on the great things God has done for us. And I’ve shared with you on Monday that he’s blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Tuesday, we talked about you are chosen by God. He has made you holy without fault in his eyes. On yesterday, which was Wednesday, we talked about you have been adopted by God and he has poured his grace on you. And today, we have two more that we want to share with you and get back to our original Scripture that we’re going to talk about. But before we get into the teaching every day I like to make a confession over our lives. And we make this confession because we believe that the things that we say out of our mouth will manifest. Jesus says, that you shall have whatsoever you say. So, repeat this after me. The favor of God is over my life. God is a hundred percent pleased with me because of Jesus Christ. God is able to make all grace abound towards me. And I’m grateful for that in Jesus’ name. Well, let’s jump back into our teaching. We started in Ephesians, the first chapter, and I looked at the very last verse, it said.

He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

And the question was asked, well, what did he do? And I answered that, he blessed us with every spiritual blessing, you are chosen by God, he has made you holy without fault in his eyes, you have been adopted by God, he has poured his grace upon you. And so, I want to pick up from Ephesians 1:11, listen to what it says.

Furthermore, because we have been united with Christ,

Do you remember all the things I just told you that he’s given you?

because we’ve been united with Christ,

We have all of the things that I have been teaching you.

we have been united with Christ,

watch this.

we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance.

My God, we have an inheritance from God and he makes everything work out according to his plan. Did you hear that? We have received an inheritance from God. What is an inheritance? Inheritance is that, let me say it this way. If I, you all know this. Yeah, you are, this is a smart group of people that listen to Dr. Steve Brown every week. Listen to this, if I own all of these properties and these houses, and I have all this money in the bank and I have, everything and I’m rich and I die, I leave that to my children and they pick up my inheritance. Watch this, Jesus received all of that from God. And when Jesus received all of that from God and God then put us in Christ, it all belonged to Christ as long as Christ was alive. When Christ died on the cross, his inheritance went to somebody and guess who it went to, you and I. Everything that belonged to Christ now belongs to you. Listen what the Scripture says, it’s right here in Ephesians 1:11.

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God.

How did we get it? When Christ died on the cross, he sent us an inheritance of forgiveness, of righteousness, of holiness, that he chose us in advance and he makes everything work out for our good. Jesus was without sin and God credit our account with Jesus perfection. That is our inheritance. My God, that’s good news. Not only they do that for us, here’s another inheritance that God has given us, it is the new covenant, which is found in Hebrews 10:16, it says.

“This is a new covenant”

This is our inheritance. Our inheritance is not the old law and the covenant and Ten Commandments and the laws of Moses and all the things that the children of Israel had to do. God gave us a new inheritance called the new covenant and he says.

“This is the new covenant that I will make with my people on that day, sayeth the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts and I would write them on their minds.”

Then he says

“I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” And when sin has been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. And so, dear brothers and sisters,

listen to this

we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great high priest who rule over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts, trusting him for our guilty conscience have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tight

this is verse 23 I’m in Hebrews. Hebrews 10 verse 23 from the New Living Translation.

Let us hold tight without wavering to the hope we affirm where God can be trusted to keep his promise.

Wow. Do you know what the Bible just told us? That because we have been adopted and have an inheritance that we can walk straight into the throne room of God today. and tell him what our issues are, what our problems are, the things that we need, the desires that we have. And he listens and hear us because we have been washed in the blood of the lamb. We are perfect in his eyesight. So, you and I get a chance to go talk to daddy today in a way with conscience clear, purity of heart because he has forgiven us of all of our sins. We are as children and when you are, my children have keys to my house. The only people that have to knock on my door is people that are not in my house, but you have been invited into the house of the Lord. You don’t have to go and knock on the door. Sometimes we spend so much time begging God for forgiveness when he’s already forgiven us. If my children came to my door and knocked on the door and said, please forgive me, please forgive me, please. I said, what are y’all doing? Would y’all come on into the house? And we spend too much time in guilt and shame. I want you to stop doing that. I want you to stop spending time in guilt and shame and spend time in the perfect will of God because he has washed you clean, made you holy, made you without sin, without that blameless. I’ve read that to you. If you want to go back to the internet and watch and listen to the rest of these programs, you will get a real sense of what I’m talking about. If you’re listening to me for the first time today, you may have missed what I’ve shared for the whole week, but I am sharing with you that you are holy, you are without fault, you’re without out sin because of the blood of Jesus that has been over your life. So, you can come boldly to the throne of grace and ask God for what you want. Now, let’s go back to Ephesians 1:14 and I’m ending this and landing this plane. Listen what it says.

So, the Spirit is our guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he’s promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people.

Wow. What did he do? He gave us every spiritual blessing. You are chosen by God. He made us holy without fault in his eyes. You have been adopted by God. He has poured his grace upon you. You have received an inheritance and God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let’s read 14 one more time.

The Spirit of God guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he’s promised and he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so that we would glorify and praise him.

When you realize what Jesus Christ has done for you, you will give him the authentic and pure praise that he so richly deserves. Let me tell you people of God, you are so blessed. He loves you so much. He has purchased you as his child. And now you can walk in that favor over your life. And as Dr. Steve Brown would say, you think about that and love on Jesus. Amen.
