What has Jesus done for you lately?

What has Jesus done for you lately?

SEPTEMBER 25, 2023

/ Programs / Key Life / What has Jesus done for you lately?

Jerry Parries: What has Jesus done for you lately? The answer to that question and more today, on Key Life.

Matthew Porter:
This is Key Life. We’re here to let you know that because of what Jesus has done, God will never be angry at you again. Steve invited our friend Jerry Q. Parries to do the teaching this week. Jerry is a pastor, an author, and has served the ministry for more than 35 years.

Jerry Parries: Hello Jeremy. It is good to be here. Man. I’m so excited to be here today. And if you tuned in expecting to hear the old man full of wisdom named Dr. Steve Brown, he has allowed me to be able to drive the bus this week. And I want to thank Dr. Steve Brown for this opportunity. Hi, I am Pastor Jerry Q. Parries, the senior pastor of Christian Family Worship Center, actually one of the voices of Key Life. And I am excited to be here with you today. So, I have the opportunity to minister the word this week. And we are excited because we are going to be teaching on the wonderful and great things God has done for you. And I know this is going to be an exciting week. I want you to share this with your family and friends. Let them know to tune in because I have some fabulous and amazing message for you today. But listen, before we get started, I always like to make a confession over my life and I say this every morning and I want you to make this confession with me. In fact, if you’re driving, if you’re at home, on your job and you can’t speak it out loud and speak it in your heart and in your mind, but I want you to repeat this after me. Say, the favor of God is over my life. God is a hundred percent pleased with me because of Jesus Christ. And God is able to make all grace abound towards me. Wow. That’s what I say every day when I get up, that the favor of God is over my life. God is a hundred percent pleased with me. And God is able to make all grace abound towards me. Well, let’s jump into our teaching. I think that you’re going to find this really, really exciting. As I said, I’m talking about the great things God has done for you. How do you become more committed to the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? You become more committed when you fully understand what Christ has done for you. If you don’t really understand what God has done for you, there is no way that you can authentically love God out of a pure heart because you don’t know what he’s done. And so, today I want to hone in, well, actually all this week, I want to talk about all the wonderful things God has done for you. I’m going to start right here in Ephesians, the first chapter, starting at the 14th verse. And this is from the New Living Translation. And if you have your Bibles and you can turn to that, you can go with me and follow me, Ephesians 1st chapter: 14th verse, New Living Translation. And I want to read the last line of this verse.

He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

Wow.

He did this so that we would praise and glorify him.

Well, the question must be asked, what did he do? Our response in finding out what God has done for us will cause us to live a life that is worthy of God’s glory. So, what did God do to cause us to worship and praise him? I’m glad you asked that question because today I’m going to share with you, or this week I’m going to share with you seven things that I believe God has done and that at the end of this week, you will realize why you need to give God glory and praise for the things he has done for you. Listen, what the Scripture says in the 14th verse, the last, first chapter, 14th verse, the last line said.

He did this so that we would praise and glorify him.

Well, what did he do? Let’s go to Ephesians, the first chapter, starting at the third verse, before we get to the 14th verse, and he’s going to share with you the things he has done so that you would give him glory and praise. Let’s look at Ephesians 1 and 3. Listen to what it says.

All praises to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who have blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm because we have been united with Christ.

There it is. The first thing that you can add to the list that Jesus have done for you is that he has given you every spiritual blessing right now in your life. You’re not waiting on this to happen, this happened when God raised Jesus from the dead. He gave you every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. Now, I want you to understand spiritual blessings are not cars, houses, money. That’s not what spiritual blessings are. Listen what the text is that he’s blessed you with every spiritual blessing. Spiritual blessings is the Holy Spirit. Spiritual blessings are love, joy, peace, forgiveness, faith, favor, healing, imputed righteousness, forgiveness. He has blessed you with every spiritual blessing. Let me tell you something, people of God, when God have released the Holy Spirit into your life, that Holy Spirit comes to comfort you. It comes to be with you through difficult and challenging times. The Holy Spirit is there to remind you of God’s love and his kindness. And you are given that gift. Not only are you given the gift of the Holy Spirit, you’re given the gift of love. Have you ever met people that it was just difficult to love them, but then the Holy Spirit reminds you of how difficult you’ve been and God loves you in spite of you. Oh, that’s a gift that God has given unto you. And then there’s joy. Listen, unspeakable joy, joy that passeth all understanding, peace and forgiveness. And I’m going to talk about that tomorrow, more on forgiveness. Faith, favor, man I have favor over my life in every area of my life. I believe that the favor of God rest on me. He’s given you healing. You know, with salvation also came the package of healing, healing became a part of that every spiritual blessing that God has given you. Listen, what it listen, when the Holy Spirit leads and guides your life, you have no anxiety, no worries, no depression, you live in peace and enjoy. And I know the life that there’s times in our lives that we get anxious about things, but the Bible tells us not to be anxious of anything, is to just rest and rest in Jesus. And that’s what the Holy Spirit comes to do. Listen, what the Bible says.

All praises to God, the Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has blessed us

not going to bless, has already blessed us

with every spiritual blessing.

That’s number one. That’s what I wanted to share with you today that you and I have been given every spiritual blessing. So, what you need to do is kind of repeat to yourself that I am blessed, that I am whole, that I am righteous, that I do have peace. Begin to speak to your spirit and tell your spirit God has already given me the peace over my life. So Father, I decree and declare that peace shall rest in my home. I decree and declare that peace shall rest over my life. I decree and declare that when I walk into these areas of my life, that your favor, goodness, and mercy shall follow me. See, when you declare these things, And you speak these things over your life, then God would allow those moments to happen in your life, just as you have spoken them to be. Why? Because they belong to you. Every spiritual blessing has been given to the belief. And if you believe it, and if you receive it, and if you walk in it. You will be able to live a life full of love, joy, forgiveness, faith, favor, healing. That’s what the Fruit of the Spirit is all about. You remember, the Bible talks about the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, kindness, and all of the things, long suffering. That’s what the spiritual blessings bring to your life. And God has given it to you. So, smile today. Rejoice today that you have every spiritual blessing flowing through your life. Not that it’s coming, but it is already there. And when you know that it’s already there, you don’t have to have anxiety, you don’t have to have worries, you can tell depression to take a back seat, you can tell confusion that God is not the author of confusion. I’m not going to live with confusion in my life because I have every spiritual blessing. And when you know what God has done for you, you will be able to say, I praise the Lord because I have every spiritual blessing. That, I don’t know about you, but that made me excited today. I’m excited to know that God has crowned me with the spiritual blessings in my life that I am able to walk through this world, knowing that I am covered by his grace, covered by his love, covered by his joy, covered by his forgiveness, covered by his righteousness. I know that I have received every spiritual blessing. So, he did this so that we would glorify and praise him. One of the first thing that we know, and I taught you today that he did. He said that I am giving you every spiritual blessing, and that is what I’m excited about. Well, my time is up. And as Dr. Steve Brown would say, you think about it.

Matthew Porter:
