God loves justice because God is love. He hears the cries of his children and calls us to stop sex trafficking, labor slavery, and extreme poverty. But joining God in his work of setting things right in the world requires divine strength that we simply can’t conjure.
Join Bethany Hanke Hoang and Kristen Deede Johnson on Steve Brown, Etc. as they discuss their book, The Justice Calling: Where Passion Meets Perseverance. Sustainable passion for justice comes from knowing God’s passion for sinners and sufferers like us.
Bethany Hoang engages leaders around the world with the critical connection between justice and spiritual formation. She advises and regularly speaks on behalf of the Institute for Biblical Justice for International Justice Mission, a global organization that protects the poor from violence. Hoang was named among “50 Women to Watch” by Christianity Today and one of “20 Women to Watch” by Catalyst.
Kristen Deede Johnson is associate professor of theology and Christian formation at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. She teaches and writes in the areas of theology, culture, formation, and political theory.
