Deep Water

When I was younger, I was a Red Cross water safety instructor.

And in fact, taught a whole lot of kids how to swim. Let me tell you something important, I learned. You will never know the joy of swimming until you’re in deep water.

Now, I’m a pastor and teach faith. There, I’ve learned that you’ll never know the joy of following Christ until you’re in deep water.

I hate deep water, but it was there that I realized I could swim and that if I struggled, there was always someone to help. One is the life guard and the other is Jesus. Both are important, when you think you’re going to drown.
