Forgiveness

Jesus loves to forgive and hang out with drunks and sinners.
Did you hear about the man who on his deathbed told his wife, tell your brother that I forgive him, but wait until after I’m dead.
In other words, I’ll forgive him, but I don’t want to be around him. Listen, that’s not forgiveness, that’s avoidance. Frankly, I can forgive anybody as long as they leave me alone.
Jesus forgives and then hangs out with the ones he’s forgiven. He’s a friend, Scripture says, of drunks and sinners, and even his name means forgiveness. Not only that, he does that even when we don’t get better. If you know that, you’ll get better.
