Tired of You

I’m old.

I have some hearing issues and can identify with the story of the elderly couple sitting on their front porch in rocking chairs. The wife said to her husband, I’m proud of you. What’d you say? He replied. And she said louder, I’m proud of you. Well, the old man said, I’m tired of you too.

Sorry. Jesus says that he’s proud of us too. We’re his kids. Sometimes I ask him to repeat that, and when he does, I say, I know, I just like to hear you say it.

I’ve been walking with him for a very long time, and while there are those who are tired of me, he never is. He feels the same about you.
