Mount Everest

He was the first man to climb Mount Everest, Edmund Hillary.

He was at a news conference and mentioned that he had left a cross on top of Everest. A heckler in the crowd mocked him and said that was religious nonsense. I don’t think so, he replied, but If you don’t like it, you can go up there and take it down.

For a long time, unbelievers have been trying to remove the cross from schools and public buildings and mountaintops, but they can’t get rid of it. It’s at the heart of the universe. A strange man hanging spread eagle on cross beams between two thieves, thieves for which he died.
